Sustainability
Lower Costs and a Healthier Environment

In 2009, Douglas Entrance was the first office building in the State of Florida to achieve the prestigious LEED® Silver certification from the US Green Building Council (it was also the first multi-tenant office building in the state to earn the USGBC’s Silver status).  Douglas Entrance has also attained the coveted ENERGY STAR® rating from the US Environmental Protection Agency for operational and energy efficiency.

Committed to providing a healthy and cost-effective workspace, Douglas Entrance can offer tenants environmentally-correct savings in terms of lower operating costs.  This is due to an investment in building systems and procedures that provide energy and water reduction through waste management and recycling programs and “green” cleaning and landscaping practices.  The property team also offers tenants a ongoing variety of wellness programs and services.

While a historic landmark, Douglas Entrance is at the forefront of sustainability.  In addition to the proven savings that result from LEED® and ENERGY STAR® standards, studies show that tenants in a “green” workplace also enjoy improved air quality, more natural lighting, and other benefits that result in increased productivity and reduced healthcare costs.
